- Librarian of Fortune: The Facebook Generation panel at Online Info – Mary Ellen Bates session was great too, and really complemented Ewan’s slot.
- The Chubby Lock Service for Loosely-Coupled Distributed Systems – Interesting paper from Google. “We describe our experiences with the Chubby lock service, which is intended to provide coarse-grained locking as well as reliable (though low-volume) storage for a loosely-coupled distributed system.”
- BBC ‘News’ | Technology | Too old for networking? – Rory Cellan-Jones, BBC ‘Technology Correspondent’ says “I have decided I am too old to Twitter and too mature for Myspace. Some things are best left to the young.”. How sad and frankly, wrong. He seems to be @ruskin147 on Twitter, but stream is protected.

It’s things like OpenID and OAuth that give me hope for the future of the net. Doing things the right way has largely gone out of the window since companies got in on the internet, and being Web 2.0 doesn’t give you a free pass either. At least there are some people out there doing work on this.
